Our Story

How it all started...

In 1898, FCC began in a little white church on the corner of Friend Street and Middle Street, and moved to our present building on Cherry Street in 1962. During the 1950’s, FCC’s attendance was growing quickly under the leadership of Frank Lillie and the U & I Class decided to start a fund to build an additional room at the back of the old church building.  With the continued rapid growth, the congregation voted to purchase land and build a new church; thus the U & I class funds were added to a new building fund.  In April of 1961, a ground-breaking ceremony was held at our present location of 39 Cherry Street.  This new building held its first service on April 15th of 1962.  As growth continued, it became necessary to add an educational wing, which was finished in 1976.

Expanding the vision...

Today we are still in Columbiana and working to reach the people right here in our community.

Where we are headed...

We have big dreams and plans to not only nurture the people in our building but to be a light to the community around us.
